"Anyone Can Cook!"

I was very fortunate to have a mom that not only was an excellent cook and baker, but she also passed her skills on to her children. Some fun memories included Sunday evening when my mom and I would make cookies together, sometimes with me doing most of it as I got older and older and then having fresh baked cookies that I actually made. Somehow, it made them taste better. We'd also have the fun of seeing how long til my dad and brothers came in with their spoons and doggy faces, ready for their scoops of dough. I remember one brother bringing in the largest spoon he could find because Mom said, " Just one spoonful". He wasn't stupid.
So on Valentine's day, I decided Lexi was now (at about 20 months old) old enough to learn the traits of a good cook. So she helped me make the sugar cookies and she was soooo happy to help! Then on Sunday, I wanted to make something with chocolate and since the vote cast by Eddie was Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, I let Lexi help me once again. Maybe when she's tall enough to reach the counters, she'll be ready to do all her own cooking. Wishful thinking? Nah...

Aww your family is so cute! I think you are going to have a great cook on your hands!
Lexi is most definitely my grand-
daughter! She has the cooking and baking genes...I can tell...and she has a good teacher, too. Keep it up and she'll be baking those cookies by herself quicker than you know. What a cutie!
I have to say...cooking is not in my genes, but Emma has them. She loves to bake and I attribute that to Cathy. Emma already will make whatever I let her on her own. I think dinner may be the next step:)
