Sweet Little Carissa

Today is Carissa's 2nd birthday!

Yea!

She is getting to be such a fun little girl, and I still grab her cute little cheeks and squeeze them...because I can.

Granted, she is my little dare devil and sometimes give me a good scare now and then.

If you can't hear it, she said "yeah" when I asked if she was okay.

And her realism when playing with her dinosaur... little morbid!

gotta love the screaming baby noises too :-)

 Since I've been pretty sick for the past few weeks, we've been celebrating her birthday for an extended period (i.e. whenever Mom can get up and do something).

 Last Monday, she got her first birthday present- A slide!

 and it currently resides in our living room, providing hours of entertainment :-)

This removed some of the increasing guilt that I was unable to take the girls out to the playground. 

Saturday, I decorated a cake because Daddy is working tonight and would miss on the birthday dinner/cake otherwise. And that would not do.

Carissa LOVED it! She kept saying "Wow" when she looked at it! Totally worth it!

We ate at California Pizza Kitchen and then played at Toys R Us for the remainder of the evening, came home and had birthday cake and went to bed.

Could I have gotten a more adorable picture???



This video is just as adorable... she thought it was so cool to have everyone singing  to her. You can just see it on her face. And she did the candles all by herself!

Carissa got a new baby doll from Gma and Gpa Leavitt...which she wouldn't let go and turn around for me to get a decent picture of. She couldn't believe she actually got to keep something from the store!

Tomorrow, she will be getting the last of her birthday presents: Tangled! 

(since the Disney Execs wouldn't release it early for her birthday today)

And really, we all are looking forward to that one...

(psssst! Don't ask how I'm feeling. Just eat some raw, salmonella-ridden chicken, place a bookshelf on your chest, put on clothes that are a size or so too small, bang some loud pots over your head then stare at the sun...yeah, that should about do it. :-P)

Lexi's ABC's

Currently, I'm working with Lexi learning her letter sounds and figuring out what letter things begin with. It's a slow process. She has had her letter names down for, like, forever... but now I'm challenging her to go outside her comfort zone.

  Today's challenge: Find an object for each letter of the alphabet (mom had to help quite a bit), take a picture, then cross it out on her chalkboard. 

She mastered the last two elements... too bad the important one was the first one :-) Oh well... I told her I'd put them up for her to look at, so here's her alphabet:
