Lexi's photo shoot
Lexi got a hold of the camera last night instead of going to bed. There were 61 photos as a result. No, I am not going to put all of them on here. Some turned out pretty good though. Here's a highlight:

Genetics
I was warned by many, mostly friends in college, to not marry someone as clumsy as myself. And although Eddie and I don't have the same areas of clumsiness, we both are pretty much - Klutz's. Another trait that we both share, more so when we were younger and didn't have work or little kids wearing us out, was excess energy. Got me in alot of trouble when I was younger, and I'm sure Ed will say the same.
That said, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And so far, we have two cute apples. Take these two cute apples, add GENETICS, and throw in the natural toddler/preschool personalities, and you have some funny, albeit sometimes painful, moments. Unfortunately, Carissa really is klutzy. She is always falling down and bonking her noggin.
(Did I mention we are moving this weekend? This all-Linoleum home isn't very conducive for a family like ours. Hello, cushy carpets!)
Fast forward to Sunday. Since learning to walk, Carissa just wants to go where ever we AREN'T going. Daddy lets her roam the halls during Sunday School and attempts Elder's Quorum... at least until the end of September... when we turn her over to the nursery. Lucky us, poor them :-) Apparently Elder's Quorum was not interesting enough and our sneaky girl bolted from Dad the one millisecond that he looked up.
Wouldn't be so bad, but class is on the stage...
4 feet off the ground...
above the basketball court...
And thus, we ended up in the ER right after church to make sure little Carissa didn't hurt her head too bad, since she puked up the entire contents of her stomach all over Daddy and herself. Don't worry, she was just fine. But she does have a bruise on the back of her head, which she keeps falling and bumping again and again.
What have we done to our kids??

Who needs a dog?
Lexi has discovered that Carissa loves getting all rambunctious with her. The crazier Lexi gets, the wilder Carissa gets. In fact, if Lexi plops on the floor first, guess who is ready to plop right on top of her?

No, I don't have an actual picture of this because a good parent must intervene at that point, not take pictures :-)
She has also discovered that she can throw objects, any object, and yell at Carissa, "Go get it, Carissa!" and she will. This leads to lots of laughter and continuous games of fetch. Carissa enjoys it and usually comes away unscathed, so I see no need to change any of this "quality time" at the present moment.
We have cereal and Goldfish drop on our floor all day long. If I don't get there fast enough with my dustbuster, it's okay. My little girl takes care of it for me.
with her lightning fast, ninja skills!
And tonight, amid our nightly routine of coercing Lexi into eating dinner (tonight was pizza... crazy child!), it got down to one more bite she had to eat before she could get her special ice cream we bought. One more bite! We said "When that piece is gone, you can have ice cream." But she just didn't want to do it. She looks over at Carissa, I see the lights come on, and she leans over and says "Hey Carissa..." and holds out the piece for her, which would've been eaten by Carissa had we not quickly pulled the two apart. She likes to pawn off her food to Carissa and thinks we don't notice. Ahhh, to be 3 and so naive....
So in any argument about why I do not, nor ever will own a dog, I say: Been there, done that...
And I like Carissa's slobbery kisses way better anyway!
It's alot of work being the family pet!

See how they've grown... together!
Granted, my girls do fight like cats and dogs, as is apparent from many of my previous posts. But sometimes, I can get them to play along together for a brief moment before physically harming each other. Those are special moments and so I usually get a snapshot of them when I can. Wanna see how they have progressed as sisters? Oh, sure you do!
Yesterday (July)
I just love my cute little girls! They actually play more than fight now. Maybe Lexi is growing up...or Carissa is finally big enough to get her way now and then! :-)
