Oh, what do you do in the wintertime?

When all the world (except where you live!) is white?

Do you swing in the breeze?

Watch the waves crash among palm trees?

And swim and lay out in the sun, with glee?
If that's what you'd like to do, come to Hawaii!

If the girls could live at the pool and the park, I think they would.
Today, we (meaning I) decided to go to North Shore and see the sea turtles. I guess they didn't want to see us, because they weren't there! :-( It was good to have a break and take a drive with the girls, regardless. We've had a busy week, and daddy has been gone for almost all of it!
Lessons Learned this week:
1)Not all spontaneous ideas turn out bad: The day out with the girls today ended up being a pretty fun day. When I agreed to have the RS recipe group at my house on Tuesday after reading an email on Friday Night at 11 PM, I thought "I'm nuts!" but it was awesome! I didn't get much to eat, but I think everyone who came had fun, so it was worth it... and my girls had more friends to play with than they could imagine!
2) Sugar, early in the morning.... Bad! I got the girls slurpees while running errands on Monday morning... what was I thinking?!
3) Taking the girls to Scouts with me... also Bad! Scouts starts at 6:45. Bedtime is 6:30. Need I say more?
4) If you're going to make a cake to teach someone, don't do it a week you can't pawn it off on your husband's coworkers. I don't want to look at another piece of cake until Carissa's birthday, and even then, I probably won't eat any. I did pawn some off on our friends. And it did turn out decent:
5) It's a lot harder to make myself clean up after the girls go to bed when it's the first break I've really had all day. Let's just say, it's 10:00 and I still haven't unloaded the dishwasher and emptied the sink. And tonight, I am just going to leave it for tomorrow. (Don't worry, Mom. This isn't normal for me. Really.)
6) There must be a reason I married Eddie. Cuz I missed him sooooo much this week!

I'm sure there's more, but, like I said, it's 10:00
and I'm tired...
and my head hurts...
so yeah...

Lexi vs. Yoga

Just a tidbit of Lexi doing her yoga on the Wii Fit.
We think she's cute.
Feel free to agree.

The Answer

It was the Duplos... which she plays with more than anything else.
Considering how many she was holding at the time of her fall, I'm surprised she only had one that impaled her!

"I got hurt on my head" -Lexi

So yesterday, Lexi was dancing...

on the couch...

inside a laundry basket.

Since that is such a stable situation, it may come as a shock to you that she soon was on the floor.

Sadly, there was much blood and tears involved too.

But to turn all your frowns upside down, I have a little game.

Look at this photo of her today.
What do you think she was holding when she fell off the couch?

Was it really worth it?

Was getting a picture with Santa really worth traumatizing my little girl?

I didn't feel all that bad until the pictures from Santa's camera were distributed on Sunday.

What a crazy year we’ve had!  As many of you know, we moved from our beautiful home of Colorado Springs to the tropical land of Hawaii. We’ve spent some time seeing many of the family friendly sights and getting used to our new environment. It’s been quite a change!
The Highlights of 2010
-          Paula, Lexi, and Carissa flew out with Grandma Leavitt to visit Tom, Amanda, and Lucy in Connecticut. Finally got to see the NYC scene, and had fun spending time together.
-          Ed graduated from Tech School in Mississippi (March) and we all took off to Hawaii soon thereafter.
-          Carissa turned the big 1 in March. She continues to learn all kinds of things from her big sister, much to the dismay of her parents !
-          Lexi turned 3 in June and is very excited to finally be going to primary. She likes to be the main decision maker of the family, and anything that has to do with playing outside.
-          Moved twice this year, and are not planning on moving again until we go back to the states in 2013. J
-          We celebrated 4 awesome years of marriage!
-          Paula’s parents came for a visit for her birthday. We had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa!
-          We were able to attend the rededication of the Laie Hawaii temple this past November, and are excited to have a working temple close by once more!
-          Celebrating our first real Mele Kalikimaka It’s funny that I (Paula) miss the snow so much seeing as I’ve spent more Christmases without it, but it’s just weird now to be running around in shorts and t-shirts ! J
We hope you’ve had a great year! We miss all our friends and family, but are making the most of our time here!(not that we wouldn’t gladly welcome visitors J) Be sure to visit our blog to see the crazy and fun times of our little family: eddieandpaula.blogspot.com
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
