Lexi's 1st day of Preschool

Today, Lexi went to her first day of Preschool.

She went and looked around last week (and was mad when it was time to go) and was excited each day leading up to it.

Carissa was happy on the way there...

and quite distraught (cried the entire way home) when we left and she didn't get to stay and play. Sorry Bug! Not yet.

I tried to make it fun for her with me, but she was cranky and I had to get some groceries, so maybe next time will be better. But listen to how quiet it was!

Now neither of the girls slept well last night. I was woken up at some hour of the night to Carissa screaming and went in to find her sitting up, surrounded by an activity book she had taken to bed with her after I had put them to sleep. As soon as I cleared it out, she laid right back down and slowly (meaning, I had to stay with her for the next 15 minutes until she was out cold) drifted back off to sleep. Then at 2:30 (this time I looked at the clock), Lexi woke up screaming for me, so I hurried, thinking she needed help going to the bathroom, but no... she was being attacked by "giant bugs". And she wouldn't calm down until I "killed" the "giant bugs". So I hurriedly "squished" all the bugs and sent her back off to bed. That girl needs to learn to separate her dreams from reality... last week, she was being bullied by some big kids and took forever to calm down :-(

So all three of us were very tired today, but I figured with what the day had in store that we'd be fine. I don't know if she was a grump in preschool, although she did get in big trouble for throwing a rock in a kid's eye (oh dear!), but Lexi was definitely showing her tiredness the rest of the day for me. She was very upset with me when she realized that the house she had just came from was going to be her preschool because she was under the impression she was going to an actual school. So I was the bad guy for a while there. And poor Carissa wanted to take a nap about 45 minutes before it was time to get her sister, so we just drove til she was asleep and I read in a parking lot until it was time to get her... and she woke up way too early when I did. *sigh* So I pretty much just chalked up today as a throw away day and let them lay on the couch, in the dark, and watch a movie while I snuck a few zzz's.

I guess we'll play catch up tomorrow.
