Lexi's ABC's

Currently, I'm working with Lexi learning her letter sounds and figuring out what letter things begin with. It's a slow process. She has had her letter names down for, like, forever... but now I'm challenging her to go outside her comfort zone.
Today's challenge: Find an object for each letter of the alphabet (mom had to help quite a bit), take a picture, then cross it out on her chalkboard.
She mastered the last two elements... too bad the important one was the first one :-) Oh well... I told her I'd put them up for her to look at, so here's her alphabet:

A
B

C
D
E
F
G
H
"Head"
I
"Ice Cream"
J
K
L
"Lightsabers"
M
N
O
"oval"
P
Q
"Quiet"
R
"Raincoat"
S
T
U
V
W
"water"
X
Y
Z

All in all, I had to find many of them for her, but she learned about the sounds they started with, which was the whole point of the activity. Maybe next time, she can find more on her own ;-)
At least she had fun doing it!

I don't know if you've heard about this website, but I've heard it is good for teaching letters and reading. Worth a look at least.
